Affiliate Disclosure
The Midlife is an editorial publication for women in Australia navigating perimenopause, menopause, and post-40 health. Most of the products we recommend are sold through a CollabCart storefront, and we may earn a commission when a reader purchases through one of our links. This disclosure applies to every page on themidlife.com.au that contains product recommendations or shop links.
Plainly stated
- We earn commission only when you buy a product after clicking through from our site.
- The price you pay is the same as if you bought directly from the supplier — there is no markup added by us.
- Commission rates vary by product and supplier (typically 5–30%) and do not influence which products we cover or how we describe them.
Our editorial standard
- Products are selected on three criteria, in this order: the strength of the peer-reviewed evidence base for the supplement category; the form of the active (e.g. magnesium glycinate, not magnesium oxide); and AU-stocking with a current AUST L registration where applicable.
- We cite peer-reviewed studies (linked to PubMed or the source journal) and the relevant AUST L entry on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) for every supplement claim.
- We do not make therapeutic claims. Supplements and other products on this site may support healthy living through perimenopause and midlife — they are not represented as treating, curing, or preventing menopause, hormonal disorders, or any other medical condition.
- See the About page for the full editorial standard, and the What we are not section below for the limits of what this site is.
Australian Consumer Law
This disclosure is provided in line with our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law administered by the ACCC and aligns with the ACCC’s guidance on influencer and affiliate marketing. Specifically:
- Material connections (commercial relationships with suppliers) are disclosed clearly.
- Recommendations reflect our genuine view of each product’s fit for women in midlife, not advertiser pressure.
- We do not present sponsored or paid placements as independent reviews. There are currently no paid placements on this site; if that changes, sponsored content will be labelled as such.
What we are not
- We are not a medical, naturopathic, nutrition, or pharmacy service. Nothing on this site constitutes professional advice.
- We are not a substitute for a qualified Australian healthcare practitioner. Always consult your GP, women’s-health GP, naturopath, dietitian, or pharmacist before changing your supplementation, training, hormone therapy, or recovery routine — particularly if you are considering or already taking menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/HRT), have a personal or family history of hormone-sensitive cancer, or are taking prescription medication.
- We are not affiliated with WellFemme, the Australasian Menopause Society, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, or any product brand we cover. Where we cite their guidance or research, that citation is descriptive use only.
Operating entity
